Our jackdaw screens prevent jackdaws from building their nests in chimneys. These places are very popular with these birds, which are cave breeders, as the narrow chimney, which is largely protected from the wind, offers ideal conditions for building a nest. The jackdaws simply drop the nesting material into the chimney until another nest can be built on top. The chimney is thus literally sealed. The screw-on jackdaw grilles (ES-DE1101 to ES-DE1105) are simply fitted to the edge of the chimney using the screws supplied. The removable jackdaw grilles (ES-DE1201 to ES-DE1205) are fitted to the edge of the chimney with the safety hinged catch using the screws supplied and allow the jackdaw grille to be opened and removed without tools.
